I’ve been asked a lot lately how to dress when you don’t really feel like dressing.
We all have those days: You’re under your covers dreading getting out of bed let alone your pajamas. –I tried this a couple times when I was younger, I’m sure you did too, you decide “Nope, today I am not putting on clothes, today I am defying all rules and going to school in my sweats.” This is all fine and dandy until third period when you’re wide awake and feeling like a marshmallow while everyone else seems to be dressed extra nice. Don’t do it guys! Try these tricks I use instead.
Leggings: (Ok I’ve never used Polyvore before but hey, first time for everything) Leggings are the easiest way to stay comfy in disguise. With an over sized sweater and a couple pieces of jewelry no one will know that you are basically in something equivalent to what you slept in.
Peacoat: Or just ditch the leggings put on some jeans and slip on a peacoat. I promise, I find that when I wear a peacoat I maintain my body temperature much more easily than I ever did wearing sweatshirts. And, an added bonus about this, is if you don’t plan to take your coat off you can wear whatever you are most comfortable in underneath it.
Tights and Hats: Tights are much warmer than you would think, the thin layer will stay close to your body and keep you warm. Keeping body heat in other ways is easy and unique as well. Wear a hat, a scarf, a thick coat with a sweater underneath. Oh and if you’re lucky wear a Chanel bangle too; that’ll keep you plenty warm:
