It has been over a year since I started this blog and I have started to notice that as my job hours went up my blog posts have gone down. And yes, as much as I would love to have my fantastic photographers follow me around daily it is impossible for that to happen. It is also hard to say to my friends: “Oh actually can we just stop the fun we are having and dedicate a little time to taking some pictures with my iPhone? Of me of course.” Even then, the pictures end up turning up sub-par. –Sorry mom the iPhone does have a fantastic camera but they just aren’t the same without you.
Thus, I have decided to take an easier route and give you some inside updates about my fashion/shopping lifestyle. I’ll warn you, however, it gets a little intense. Not to say I won’t post outfit updates…. We will see how this goes:
You know that eBay commercial that is on TV right now? The one with the red dress? Well here it is:
Yes I succumbed to the commercial’s superpowers (weird how that happens) and had to get the dress. So I did a little investigating –by investigating I mean watching it on YouTube and pausing it as she both walks past the store she sees it in, and again when she finds in on eBay.
Rebecca Taylor, great! $295? Not so great…. Now, I am going through a dilemma of: do I start buying slightly higher priced items that will last longer and be of higher quality? or do I buy a lot of cheaper yet trendy stuff? I usually end up settling for a mix of both. But I figure it’s a classic red dress that isn’t too short (hopefully) so it will last me a good ten or so years (that may, or may not be wishful thinking). So I would probably pay about $150ish for that.
After first sending me mom a quick text: Can you buy me this dress please? It’ll be like we are shopping for Prom all over again :), checking RetailMeNot and Ebates, in that order, to no avail. With a little help from my good friend ShopStyle I found the dress for $177 on Neiman Marcus! Close enough if you ask me.
I have a fear that if I find something on sale it’s going to sell out within minutes so I absolutely must get it then. So of course I didn’t wait for a response (that never came) from my mom and purchased it. We will see how it fits. And hey, I promise to wear it over and over, just like the girl in the commercial.

LOVE that dress!! I can not afford that, well I can but I know my boyfriend would be mad if I wasted that much money on a dress.
