Just a Scarf
Flats: Vera Wang, Scarf: H&M, Pearls: Givenchy, Top: H&M
Maki and I went to the Ainsley House in downtown Campbell a while back. It is really funny how you can leave a place for a few years and not remember your way around just a short while later. It truly is a beautiful home, with the same trappings that made it what it was 80 years ago. There were a few people staring at us while we took these shots but I guess I am getting used to it.
I can’t say that day was the slightest bit cold; in fact it was a lovely summer day. Still, sometimes I like to throw a lightweight scarf into the mix. It gives a completely different element for layering and definitely creates a unique look. Scarves are like that, most people I know shy away from them unless they are freezing and it’s a large woolen scarf that they wear with their ski pants. I know I’ve bought my mom a number of scarves I have never seen her wear. It’s just never cold enough or it’s too stylish. It’s just a scarf, nothing to be afraid of. I can never imagine a time where I heard anyone say: ‘wow look at her, attempting to be stylish with a scarf but completely missing the mark.’ It’s just one more factor that can make you look like you spent an hour longer to get ready, when in reality it took you about a minute to drape it around your neck. Haven’t you got them fooled?
I can’t decide whether I want in to be autumn yet to be able to pull out my warmer clothes, or stay summer forever. I love the heat and being able to jump into the water to cool off, but then again fall brings an entirely new section of wardrobe to life. I suppose the decision isn’t up to me so I better enjoy whatever Mr. Sun brings.
