Have you ever heard rule to not mix your prints? But we threw that one out the door because we don’t always follow the rules. Just call us the fashion heretics… maybe mixing prints is popular right now, but would you ever have mixed your florals?
Okay, I have to give my lovely mother some credit here. Last time I said she doesn’t wear the scarves I give her, but when I was wandering around my room in my stockings looking for a pair of shoes to wear she pulled my floral heels off the shelf and proposed I wear them. After giving her a quick sideways glance, this thought had never crossed my mind before, I slipped my feet into them, and voila! I was in love. Thanks ma!
So there you have it, take whatever you read in that style book of yours and erase it from your memory. You couldn’t possibly go wrong. I came across a sentence in a book yesterday that resonated with me: they will either want to kill you, kiss you or be you. Of course the book is about fighting for a revolution but you can see how it could fit here. You’re never going to please everyone so you might as well please yourself.
